The Investment Camp, Grand Camps and Aviation Camp are special camps established to bring family members together in an unusual setting to learn about topics such as Native American culture, aviation, and money management.

Grand Camp
Have plans for the summer? Join us at Grand Camp. Grand Camp is an opportunity for grandparents and their grandchildren to share a unique learning experience.

Create authentic Native American art projects under the guidance of Oklahoma artist Cha’ Tullis. Each family member will craft their own medicine bag, learn the history of this storied artifact and attend a
personal blessing ceremony with the artist.

Discover the fine art of Native American bookmaking. Led by locals Heather Ahtone and Marwin Begaye, this special project encourages family members to work together to capture memories for years to come. Learn a few new dance steps as world famous Native American dancers and storytellers take you through generations of history and culture.

Explore Oklahoma’s most beautiful parks. Roman Nose Resort is home to gypsum hills and mysterious underground streams. Western Hills Guest Ranch boasts rolling hills and is located right on Lake Fort Gibson. Each camp includes sessions allowing campers to soak up the local flora and fauna in the parks.

Camp in either the state lodge at Roman Nose State Park or Western Hills Guest Ranch. Each room has two double beds, air conditioning, TV and a private bath.

Grand Camp is for grandparents and their grandchildren, ages 7-14.

Includes three nights’ lodging at either Roman Nose State Park or Western Hills Guest Ranch, all meals, all materials for art projects, all lectures, performances and presentations.

Grand 'N Kids
Held on the University of Oklahoma campus, this program is an opportunity for grandparents to “relive” their college days and for their grandchildren to experience college life and all it has to offer.

During the four-day camp, the grandparent/grandchild team will explore two arts: weaving and mask making. The “team” will explore their past and look at the present through these two art experiences.

Transportation is provided for all classes and evening activities. Classes are held in university classrooms and attendees stay in university student housing and eat in the university cafeteria. Recreational activities are planned for the evenings.

Grand ‘N Kids is for children entering 4th through 8th grades in the fall, 2008.

Aviation Grand Camp

Take to the sky and explore the wonders of aviation during this oneday camp. Grandparents and/or parents will work together with their grandchildren/children to build and launch rockets, conduct experiments in aviation science and fly in OU airplanes.

Aviation Grand Camp is for children ages 9-12.
